BPSC Teacher Vacancy 2026

The Bihar Public Service Commission has announced the number of vacancies for the recruitment of teachers. There are a total of 46,595 vacancies in schools under the School Education Department and SC & ST Welfare Department.

BPSC Teacher Eligibility Criteria 2026

You can apply for Bihar Teacher Recruitment Requirement 2026 only if you meet the educational qualification and age limit for the respective post.

Educational Qualification 

• Primary (Class 1 to 5) Teacher: You must have passed the intermediate examination, have done a 2-year D.El.Ed. or 4-year B.El.Ed., and have passed CTET Paper 1.
• Middle School (Class 6 to 8) Teacher: You should have a graduate or equivalent degree, have done a 2-year B.Ed. or 2-year D.El.Ed., and have passed CTET Paper 2; or have passed your intermediate exam and have done a 4-year B.El.Ed., 4-year BABEd., or 4-year B.Sc.B.Ed. and have passed CTET Paper 2.
• Secondary (Class 9 to 10) Teacher: You should have a graduation or equivalent degree, have completed a 2-year B.Ed. or 3-year B.Ed.-Med., and have passed Bihar STET Paper 2; or have passed the intermediate exam and completed a 4-year BABEd. or 4-year B.Sc.B.Ed. and have passed Bihar STET Paper 2.
• Higher Secondary (Class 11 to 12) Teacher: You must have a postgraduate or equivalent degree; you must have done a 2-year B.Ed., 3-year B.Ed.-M.Ed., 4-year BScBEd, or 4-year BA-BEd; and you must have passed the Bihar STET Paper 2.

Age Limit:

• Primary Teacher & Middle School Teacher: 18 to 37 years.
• Secondary Teacher & Higher Secondary Teacher: 21 to 37 years.

The age relaxation is applicable for 3 years for UR, BC, and EBC females and BC and EBC males and 5 years for SC and ST males and females.

If you are above 37 years of age and belong to the reserved category, you can claim age relaxation by providing the relevant documents.

BPSC Teacher Application Fee 2026

The application fee for Bihar Teacher Recruitment 2026 is only ₹100 for all male and female candidates irrespective of their caste. You can deposit it using a debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI.

BPSC Teacher Selection Process 2026

There are two stages in the selection process of teacher recruitment in Bihar: first is the written exam and second is document verification. If you pass the first stage, you will be called for the second. After this, you will get the appointment letter to join the school.

BPSC Teacher Pay Scale 2026
