HPRCA JBT Eligibility Criteria 2026
If you meet the following requirements, you can apply for the recruitment of a junior basic teacher in the government primary school of Himachal Pradesh.
Educational Qualifications:
- You have passed the 10+2 exam with at least 50% marks and pursued a 2-year JBT/DElEd, a 4-year BElEd, or a diploma in education (special education); or have completed graduation with a 2-year JBT/DElEd; or have pursued post-graduation and completed a three-year BEd-MEd.
- You have passed the HP Teacher Eligibility Test (JBT).
Note that you have passed 10th and 12th from a school in Himachal Pradesh, which is not required if you are a Bonafide Himachali.
Age Limit
- You shouldn’t be below 18 or above 45 years as of January 01, 2026.
Note that the upper age relaxation is applicable for 5 years for SC, ST, OBC, PwBD, and Ex-SM of Himachal Pradesh; if you are above 45 years and belong to any reserved category as an HP resident, you can claim the age relaxation, but you must have the required document.
HPRCA JBT Application Fee 2026
To apply for the recruitment of a junior basic teacher in any government school of Himachal Pradesh, you have to pay an application fee of 800 rupees. It includes 100 rupees as an examination fee and 700 rupees as a processing fee.

HPRCA JBT Selection Process 2026
The selection process for the recruitment of JBT in government primary schools of Himachal Pradesh consists of a single stage, which is a written screening test. It will be held in CBT mode most probably in May or June 2026, in which there will be 120 objective-type questions from the following:
- General Knowledge, including General Knowledge of Himachal Pradesh & Current Affairs.
- Everyday Science, Logical Reasoning, Social Science, General English & General Hindi.
Each question in this exam will be of 1 mark, and no marks will be deducted for incorrect responses. The time duration of the exam will be 90 minutes, and the medium will be English and Hindi.
HPRCA JBT Pay Scale 2026
After getting appointed as a junior basic teacher in any government primary school of Himachal Pradesh, you will get a consolidated pay of 18,000 rupees. No additional benefits such as dearness allowance, house rent allowance, or any other benefit will be provided.
