SSB HC Eligibility Criteria 2026
To apply for the SSB Head Constable Recruitment 2026, it is mandatory to meet the age limit and required qualifications for certain positions, which are as follows:
Head Constable (Steward)
- Age Limit: 18–27 years.
- Required Qualification: Intermediate, two-year Diploma in Catering or Kitchen Management and minimum 1 year experience as a Steward in a 100+ bedded hospital or institution.
Head Constable (Communication)
- Age Limit: 18–27 years.
- Qualification: Intermediate in science (physics, chemistry, and mathematics) and a 3-year diploma in electronics, computer science, or information technology.
Head Constable (Electrician)
- Age Limit: 18–25 years
- Required Qualification: Matriculation and 2 years’ work experience in trade, or 1-year certificate and 1 year’s experience, or 2-year diploma (ITI or Vocational Institute).
Head Constable (Veterinary)
- Age Limit: 18–27 years
- Required Qualification: Intermediate with Science (Biology), 2-year Diploma in Veterinary / Livestock Development / Veterinary Stock Assistant / Animal Husbandry.
Note the upper age relaxation is applicable for 3 years for OBC-NCL and 5 years for SC and ST; if you belong to any of these and you have time for the upper age limit, you may claim the age relaxation if you have an NCL certificate or SC/ST category certificate.
