The Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test is a qualifying examination conducted once a year by the BSE Odisha. It aims to award TET certificates to candidates within the state who aspire to be appointed as teachers in various government or private schools.
For the year 2026, the notification for the OTET was released on March 3, 2026; subsequently, the application forms became available starting March 26, 2026, and will remain accessible on the official website of the BSE Odisha, https://bseodisha.nic.in/, until April 9, 2026.
OTET 2026 Application Form
The application form for the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test 2026 has been made available online on the official website of the Board of Secondary Education Odisha. All candidates wishing to participate in it are recommended to apply online at an early stage so they don’t have to face the last-minute rush.

OTET 2026 Eligibility Criteria
The OTET 2026 is conducted for two categories: Category A, intended for students in classes 1 to 5; and Category B, intended for students in classes 6 to 8. The educational qualification requirements for both categories are provided below.
Category A (For Classes I–V)
- 12th (Higher Secondary) with at least 50% marks + 2-year D.El.Ed.
- 12th with at least 45% marks + 2-year D.El.Ed (NCTE 2002 norms)
- 12th with at least 50% marks + 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education.
- 12th with at least 50% marks + 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
- Graduation + 2-year D.El.Ed.
- Graduation with at least 50% marks + B.Ed.
- Postgraduation with at least 55% marks + 3-year integrated B.Ed-M.Ed.
Category B (For Classes VI–VIII)
- Graduation + 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Graduation or postgraduation with at least 50% marks + B.Ed.
- Graduation with at least 45% marks + 1-year B.Ed.
- 12th with at least 50% marks + 4-year B.El.Ed.
- 12th with at least 50% marks + 4-year B.A.Ed. or B.Sc.Ed.
- Graduation with at least 50% marks + B.Ed. (Special Education)
- Postgraduation with at least 55% marks + 3-year integrated B.Ed-M.Ed.
Note the 5% relaxation in minimum marks for SC, ST, SEBC and PWD candidates, and there is no age limit for applying for OTET 2026 Category A or Category B.
OTET 2026 Application Fee
Payment of the application fee is mandatory for applying to the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test 2026 for Category A or Category B; the details regarding this are listed below.
- If you belong to the UR or SEBC category, you are required to pay ₹900 to apply for Category A or Category B; if applying for both categories, the application fee is ₹1,400.
- If you belong to the SC, ST, or PWD category, you are required to pay only ₹600 to apply for Category A or Category B; for both categories, the application fee is ₹900.Â

To submit the application form for the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test 2026, please follow the instructions outlined below.

- Click on the Apply Online button.
- Complete the registration process by providing your mobile number, email address, and other necessary details.
- Log in using your email address and password.
- Accurately fill in your educational qualifications and all other requested details in the application form.
- Upload your photograph, signature, and all required documents.
- Pay the application fee, and then click the “Submit” button to submit your application form.
OTET 2026 Exam Date & Time
The Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test 2026 will be conducted on 29 May 2026. The exam for Category 1 will be conducted from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, and for Category 2, the exam will start at 2:00 PM and end at 4:30 PM.
