HPRCA Panchayat Secretary Eligibility Criteria 2026
You can apply for the HPRCA Panchayat Secretary Recruitment 2026 if you meet the educational qualification and age limit given below.
Educational Qualification
- You have pursued a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognised university.
- You have an English typing speed of 30 words per minute (WPM) and a Hindi typing speed of 25 words per minute on the computer.
- You have knowledge of word processing on the computer.
Age Limit
- Your age shouldn’t be below 18 years or above 45 years as of January 1, 2026.
- The upper age relaxation is applicable for 5 years for SC, ST, OBC, and EWS.
If you are above the upper age limit, you may claim the age relaxation, if applicable for you, for which you have to provide the required document.

To apply for the HPRCA Panchayat Secretary Recruitment 2026, you need to deposit the application fee of ₹800, which includes an examination fee and processing fee of ₹100 and ₹700, respectively. You may pay it using a debit card, credit card, NET banking, or UPI.
To make corrections in the application form, if you made any mistake, you have to deposit ₹100. The payment method for it is the same as the application fee payment.
HPRCA Panchayat Secretary Selection Process 2026
The selection process for the recruitment of a Panchayat secretary consists of two stages, which are a written screening test and a typing test. Firstly, you need to participate in the WST, and after clearing it, you will be called for TT.
The Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Aayog will prepare the merit list for the position of Panchayat Secretary based on the individual’s score only in the WST, as the TT is qualitative in nature.

The HPRCA will conduct the written screening test for the position of Panchayat Secretary in CBT mode with an exam time duration of 90 minutes; there will be a total of 120 objective-type questions from the below:
- General Knowledge, including General Knowledge of Himachal Pradesh and Current Affairs.
- Everyday Science, Logical Reasoning, Social Science, General English & General Hindi
Each question is expected to carry a weightage of 1 mark, and there is likely to be a negative marking provision of 0.25 for each incorrect response. The medium of the exam will be both English and Hindi, except for the language section.

After appointment as Panchayat secretary under the Department of Panchayati Raj, you will get a consolidated pay of ₹12,500 every month. Note that you won’t get any dearness allowance, house rent allowance, or any other benefits.
