UGC NET 2026 Application Form: Important Dates, Eligibility Criteria & Other Details 

The National Testing Agency will release the application form for the UGC NET June 2026 examination in April 2026. If you wish to participate in this exam, please note that the application form will remain available on the official website of the NTA Examinations for a total duration of three weeks.

UGC NET 2026 Application Form

The application forms for the UGC NET June 2026 examination are expected to be available between the third week of April 2026 and the second week of May 2026. Candidates wishing to participate in this examination will be able to submit their applications by providing the necessary details and uploading mandatory documents and by paying the fee.

The application form for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test June 2026 examination must be filled out exclusively online; no offline submission facility will be available. While applying online, you must ensure that all the details provided by you are accurate, as your application will not be accepted in the event of any errors.

Eligibility Criteria 

The eligibility criteria for the UGC NET June 2026 are available below in terms of educational qualification and age limit. Refer to the listed points for the details.

Junior Research Fellowship

  • You have pursued a master’s degree from a government-recognized university with at least a 55% score. 
  • Your age shouldn’t be above 31 years.

Assistant Professor:

  • You have completed a postgraduate degree from an institution recognized by the government with at least a 55% score.
  • There is no age limit.

PhD:

  • You have pursued a bachelor’s degree with at least a 75% score or a complete master’s degree with a 55% score from a government-recognized institution.
  • There is no age limit.

Notes:

  • SC, ST, PwBD, and PH category candidates get 5% relaxation in qualifying degree.
  • The age relaxation is applicable for 3 years for OBC category candidates and LLB holders, 5 years for SC, ST, and PwD male candidates, and all female aspirants.

Application Fee

To apply for the UGC NET June 2026, you have to pay the application fee. The payable amount varies depending on category. Refer to the table below to check the details.
